Feeling Generous so Take Advantage of the Freebie!
Sometimes I feel a little bit overwhelmed. As a freelance editor, proofreader and ghostwriter, not to mention freelance screenplay writer, it is hard to meet the demands of everyone I work with on a daily basis. Then, there are those stories, poems and other little writing projects for myself. One of which, I hope you are currently enjoying. I do have goals for this year, but am not into resolutions. I have outgrown those thank heavens! My goals? 1) To finish the projects I am working on for other people, 2) To score three contracts for my own works, (this is a big one) and 3) To host other authors and to help promote their works and learn more from the wonderful group of ROSES at The Wild Rose Press at how to become better at what I love to do, which is the business of writing. My heart and soul! My Joy! Well, you get it!
Now, the part of being generous? I’ve always wanted to do things for others and make that my mantra and have for many years. This year I’ve taken a book that has reverted back to me and uploaded it at Goodreads for a free download. That’s right, one of my own. Here’s the link.

The book is called Queen of Hearts. It was given a 5 star review and nominated for best Paranormal Romance of the Year in 2007. For those of you who love vampires, your going to really love this one. It’s a look, a different glimpse into my imagination. A look at the world of my vampires. I hope that one of the contracts I intend to score this year is another of my vampire novels, one that was originally planned for this series.

LAST POST OF 2012!
Dear fellow authors and fans, readers of all our romantic dreams brought to life on the page, I wanted to say thank you for being you! Thank you for sticking with me through the ups and downs and the first release I’ve had in quite a while. BE STILL MY LOVER’S HEART began as just a short story for a contest and became a wonderful novel full of adventure, romance and the beginning of a five book journey with THE MEMORY MAKERS. 2012 was a very difficult year for me, losing a job and multiple health issues, yet I have prevailed with only the help of God and my wonderful husband.
I know without doubt that 2013 is going to be a spectacular year! I have many goals including three contracts I hope to secure for three wonderful books you’re sure to love! Book 2 in The Memory Maker’s series is underway but is still being fleshed out. I hope to have it completed by the end of next year and out to you all by 2014. Know one thing for sure, I have so many wonderful tales to get out to you that you are going to absolutely love! Many have already been written and are just in need of editing. Many are on hold for a short while. I will have a wonderful Christmas story for all of you for next Holiday Season, I promise.
Now, you are all getting ready, if not already celebrating the coming in of 2013. Please be safe, be responsible and know that I look forward to seeing you all next year!

Most Asked Question???
When I was a little girl, I loved the stories that my mother read to me. Of course, what child doesn’t? By the time I was five, I was the one telling stories and by age six, began to write them. I was very intuitive, still am, and intensely creative. I think most people who are creative rather than logical, are good at many things. There are those who are only good at one thing as well.
Another thing I learned from my mother was that reading was both knowledge and entertaining. I began reading from a young age and haven’t stopped. I found out that she was so very right. I have been around the world, into space, in the middle of incredible fantastical epic stories and both heartwarming and heartbreaking romances. I learned about the world of medicine, the wonders of our bodies, the terrors of disease processes, natural and holistic healing practices, hypnotism and the working intricacies of our brains. In a sense, I learned I did have a logical side, but my creative side was where I lived. I wrote stories, poems and songs from elementary school through college and even won awards for some of it. Reading was my escape from problems I didn’t want to deal with and yet my way of learning how to deal with them. But writing, well there is nothing quite like it.
For a while, I thought I might be a little crazy and so I visited a therapist who asked me a question. This question has been put to me many times over my life and I have always answered it truthfully. Sometimes, with unusual repercussions, always with curiosity that led to more questions. What is this question? “Do you hear voices?” I’m a writer, of course I do! And I found out, after meeting other writers, that they do, too. I’m not crazy! Wow! The voices I hear are those of the characters, begging for me to write their stories; stories that inspire, intrigue and romance readers everywhere. Stories of fantastical races, other worlds, fights for survival, vampires, werewolves, witches and ghosts, of love worth fighting and dying for. Characters who are both funny and dramatic. Characters with everyday lives, rooted in everyday situations. Characters people root for, laugh and cry with.
So, yes, I do hear voices and I’m grateful that I do! If I didn’t, there would be no stories to write. I may be a little crazy, but the world I live in is a better place because of it.

I ANSWERED THE CALL!
A call went out from my wonderful publisher for submissions. Well, I have several books that I have written that are just lying around waiting for editing, contracts and publication. So, I took a chance, jumped and submitted two. Now, don’t get me wrong, book two in the Memory Maker’s series is still in the editing and filling in stage, but is otherwise, complete and will be submitted this year as well. I also, have a contemporary that I will be submitting for next year’s Holiday treat! AND there are more! But, I wouldn’t want to be presumptuous or overwhelming! I just want to be hopeful and next year has simply got to be a better one than this one has.
THE HONOR OF MY LOVER’S HEART is the second in the Memory Maker’s series and is Cami’s story. No, it’s not with Aveal. But with another character who’s made a promise to his people to bring technology back to them. Racer turns out to be Cami’s bondmate, much to her chagrin. However, the two couldn’t be more alike. She, however, is not very good at following the rules, and now that they are in the world of the Vatamps, she can’t quite seem to come to terms with their culture and her life is threatened due to her stubbornness and her trouble fitting in. Racer believes he is keeping her safe by keeping her out of his dangerous undertaking, but Cami is a warrior in her own right and if they are both to survive, they will need to work together. Their story is a very hot and steamy one with even more action and adventure than the first. But don’t worry, Aveal will get his day in book three. I won’t reveal his just yet.
The two submitted are a Vampire heated romance full of comedy, drama and one of my absolute favorites. I hope it makes it out there for all of you. The second is a fast paced, story full of twists and turns through time travel involving one headstrong bounty hunting witch and one sexy opinionated ghost. But, hey, time changes everything, right? Let’s hope you get to find out!

Onward and Upward
Well, the launch party I set up, did better than I hoped. I had several that popped in more than once and a couple of buyers. I guess I should sigh with relief however it is anything but over. There will always be promotional opportunities and other ways; one of them is to continue to blog. As tiring as marketing is and that not being my forte, I need to get back to writing and submitting. There are several finished books I have that are very good and well loved by those who have read for critique that I must edit and send out. Then, there is book two in this series that is also, finished, but in need of editing.
This is the life of a writer. As with any job, there are aspects that aren’t very pleasant, but the pay off down the road will be worthwhile. I am on my way and it will always be onward and upward for me!

It’s Here! The Wait is Over!
Imagine my surprise to find out that my book is out sooner than I had thought? It was planned for another two weeks out, but it’s out now! I’m so excited! In a year that has truly been one of the worst in my life, here is the ray of sunshine to herald the literal dawn of what promises to be a wonderful new year full of pleasant surprises. I’ve recently learned I’m about to be a Grandmother for the first time and I’m excited about that! I’m going home to Tennessee to see my mom and two of my children, none of whom I’ve seen in a long time. Many of my projects are wrapping up and I’m fixing to start the query and submission process again with many of the books I’ve already got completely written!
Even though I know that the entertainment industry, no matter which branch, is difficult to get a strong foothold in, I’m confident that my ship is anchored a little way out and I’m about to catch the shuttle to set sail on it!
